The Novotel Hotel in downtown Mississauga was a beehive of activity on that cool Sunday morning…it was, after all, only early spring in Canada. And as the crowd grew, the organizers realized more chairs were required to amply seat those who decided to turn up at the 11th hour – for Joey’s first ever Feng Shui & Astrology for 2007 Seminar in North America!
Canada was the first North American venue for this Seminar and in all honesty, a testing ground of sorts. But the full house and larger-than-expected audience certainly passed the crucial litmus test of interest in classical Feng Shui there. The Seminar was further graced and honored by the presence of the Mayor of Mississauga, Mayor Hazel McCallion, who joined fellow Canadians to hear what the Year of the Fire Boar holds in store for everyone.
To the delight of everyone, a traditional Chinese lion dance kicked-off the day’s itinerary, after which Mayor McCallion took to the stage. She congratulated the Mastery Academy on having organized such an `informative seminar’ like Joey’s in Toronto, before graciously passing the stage to Joey.
And if the thunderous applause and eager faces that greeted Joey weren’t welcome enough, then nothing else would have sufficed! Touched and warmed by the support of his audience, Joey thanked them before taking them on a journey into Feng Shui – and how this metaphysical science can be applied to benefit their endeavors in life.
All too soon, it was time for the first break of the day, although many participants took the opportunity to get up `close and personal’ with Joey…and let him know how they enjoyed his refreshing new approach. Many admitted to having virtually zero knowledge of classical Feng Shui prior to attending this Seminar, and their introduction to Chinese Metaphysics through Joey had provided them with a good insight into this field.
When the Seminar resumed, Joey then plunged into a detailed discourse of the Flying Stars for 2007. Not wishing any amongst his listeners to be left behind or in a lurch, he patiently elaborated upon certain concepts that might have otherwise confused or confounded Feng Shui newbies.
Lunch followed suit, during which Joey found himself swarmed by an eager crowd of Canadians – all interested to learn more about Feng Shui, the various books he had authored, as well as the types of consultations offered. Joey was very pleased to find interest in Chinese Metaphysics thriving in North America, and gladly attended to the queries directed at him.
The second half of the day saw Joey sharing the outlook for the 12 Zodiac Animals – and the opportunities and challenges that await each animal this year. This proved to be extremely interesting and entertaining to many participants, who were keen to hear what the year ahead held for them. And with the second break came another deluge of participants, many of whom again approached Joey to ask him questions and some to get their books (authored by Joey) personally autographed by him!
It is certainly safe to say that the Seminar ended on a high note…participants left with heavy hearts, but in good spirits. As the curtains drew to a close, Joey thanked his audience for their warm welcome and interest in Feng Shui once again – and promised more things to come, in the future. If there was ever anything to deduce from the turnout at and support for this Seminar, interest in Chinese Metaphysics appears to be increasing, with a promising future amongst the North American audience!
