Disclosing the Art of BaZi Profiling
Source : Jom Cari (June Issue)
Date : 1 Jun 2014
by Dato Joey Yap

For most of us, choosing a career path can be a confusing and anxiety-filled process. When you are job searching, there comes a point where you would ask yourself: What am I good at and what kind of job is suitable for me? Finding the right job is likened to finding the right fit to your personalities, strengths and character. Therefore, your personality is the key to finding a career that's right for you.

This article is not written to help job searching candidates find the best jobs available out there. There are plenty of those (don't worry). The key here is to find the right job role that best matches your talent, strength and capabilities, one that allows you to grow and progress along your career objective. This is where you need to understand your strength and your natural talent and connect these positive traits with a platform that allows you to explore and grow.

Which brings us to BaZi Profiling, a system of personality profiling that offers a number of clear advantages. BaZi Profiling allows you to peel off layerafter layer of your personality, revealing the TRUE form of your identity. The true essence of your character and personality traits can only be ascertained from your Day Master, which is derived from your Day of Birth. The Day Master is only just the first step, the initial layer towards understanding yourself and finding the best job that plays out to your advantage. Your Day Master reveals your true basic identity traits, especially ones that can be easily perceived by others.

In the following part of this article, we will perform a simple Day Master analysis based on a sample Chart provided. By studying the sample Chart, you can know that the Day Master of this individual is Geng Metal (Yang Metal). Here's the analysis of an individual with Geng Metal Day Master:

The Great Endurance of the Yang Metal

If you're a Geng Metal Day Master, you are likely to exhibit the majority of the traits. If you're not a Geng Metal Day Master but you have the Geng Metal as one (or more) of the Heavenly Stems in your BaZi Chart, then you're likely to exhibit these tendencies as well, but in lesser degrees.

Geng Metal, as Yang Metal, is represented by the unforged iron ore, raw metal, or the sharp and powerful sword and battle-axe. Geng Metal individuals, then, are tough souls who can usually endure any amount of hardship.

One of the key identity traits of the Geng Metal personality is its propensity for valuing friendship and their ties to others. They are often ready to lend a helping hand to their friends whenever it is needed. While they appear solid and unmoving on the outside, they are actually very gentle and caring on the inside. Usually, their apparent severity or sternness is usually a facade.

The Geng Metal: Thinking & Judgment

Geng Metal individuals come armed with a razor sharp mind that thrives on working within a system. They prefer to have a systematic approach to life's goals - one that goes through steps and procedures properly, as opposed to shooting all over the place and causing general confusion.

This can be good and bad. The good is that once know what they want, nothing stops them from getting there. It's bad when they still haven't figured out what they really want. They become like an aimless axe swinging around and slicing at thin air.

As a rule, clarity should be the aim of Geng Metal's mind. Clarity is power. Just like an axe, it must know exactly where and what to chop. If the Geng Metal mind is confused or disoriented, Geng Metal could become dangerous to him/herself. Thus, they must strive to know exactly what they want and how to go about getting what they want.

Work Character of Geng Metal

At work, the Geng Metal individuals are somewhat imposing and severe. Others may find it hard to approach you because they don't often present a warm and amiable facade. However, they tend to soften up once their colleagues get to know them better.

While a sword or battle axe is not really known to bend over backwards in order to avoid slicing through something, in the business world, flexibility is the key. The more inflexible you are, the more opportunities you will miss out on.

As colleagues, others trust you to fight on their behalf if they've been given a raw deal. You don't tolerate office politics, especially if you see people trampling over others to get to the top.

The Next Step

For any BaZi analysis, we usually begin by checking the Day Master first. The Day Master provides a good foundation on which a BaZi analysis could begin from. But bear in mind that this is just the first step towards discovering the complete picture of who you are. To complete your analysis, there are also two other levels of BaZi Profiling: the Structure and the Profile, both of which drill deeper into your character, work traits. They explain the factors that make you what you are. Stay tuned for the second part of this article as we go deeper into understanding the art of BaZi Profiling.
