September 5 - 8, 2009
Students geared up for four days of Feng Shui study in Melbourne with Mastery Academy Instructor Chan Chi Tim. Feng Shui Module 1 was held on Saturday, September 5, while the remaining 3 days from September 6 - 8 was on Feng Shui Module 2. The classes were held at the Quest on Lonsdale in Melbourne.
Chi Tim's friendly instructional style enabled the students to feel comfortable during their initial forays into the study and practice of Feng Shui. The first day, which was on Module 1, was focused wholly on the fundamentals of Feng Shui and the reasons why we study it. Emphasis was placed on Qi, Yin and Yang, the Five Elements. Besides that, there was also an introduction into Eight Mansions, Flying Stars, and identifying Landform structures.
Module 2 was a little bit more vigorous. It began with a detailed session on using the Luo Pan, and demarcating the property. Chi Tim guided the students through the Forms in Feng Shui and how it relates to the environment. Chi Tim introduced something different, and made students engage in a little bit of 'practical' Feng Shui - which is not ordinarily a part of Feng Shui Modules 1 and 2.
He took students outside of the building for a little while to use the Luo Pan and take measurements. It was a point of awe and interest for the students at one point, when standing at one position and facing one particular direction, they only had to move a few steps to the left or the right and had a different reading on the Luo Pan.
Chi Tim also showed students the Qi mouth on Lonsdale Street. As the street inclines upward, he explained why business was not so prosperous in higher parts. But where the Qi settled down on the lower parts, the situation was better, providing students with practical working insight on the way of the Qi.
It was definitely a challenging and interesting four days for the Feng Shui-bound students, especially under Chi Tim's professional yet approachable style of teaching.
