Joey Yap was on hand on Thursday, October 29 at the East West Bookstore in New York City. He was there to talk about 'The Art of Face Reading,' published by CICO Books, a UK-based international publisher. The event took place between 7 to 8 PM.
During the talk, Joey spoke about his inspiration behind the book, and his reasons for writing it. He delved into the subject of Face Reading (or Mian Xiang), which has a long and illustrious history, especially in Asian countries. Joey spent some time exploring the key factors of 'The Art of Face Reading,' explaining how Face Reading IS an art - but one that can be practiced by anyone!
Using hilarious examples to great effect, Joey spoke at length about how Face Reading can be done easily and subtly, considering the number of faces we look at on any given day. He highlighted examples from the book to explain exactly how useful Face Reading is - enabling you to determine if your spouse is The Shopaholic One, the Emo One, and other such types. The book is well-illustrated with pictures of ordinary people and celebrities to better emphasise the Face Reading techniques and features.
The book talk was well-attended by the public, and they were happy to meet with Joey after the talk to get their books signed or simply to exchange a few words.
