September 20 & 23, 2011
Joey Yap conducted two workshops in Kuala Lumpur recently, focusing on the intriguing subject of soulmates. There is no denying that when it comes to love and relationships, people do look out for that soulmate factor - The One, who fits the other perfectly in life.
However, Joey explained that in the context of Chinese Metaphysics studies, the term "soulmate" doesn't necessarily mean the person one marries, as not everyone marries their soulmate or find The One at an early age. There's also a likelihood a person may only meet their soulmate after marriage. But would that be too late? Western and Eastern cultures approach marriage and divorce differently. So the answer to that question depends on how divorce or separation is tolerated in each culture.
This topic really engaged the participants' interest in Joey's Soulmate Workshops. The workshops, each held on separate evenings for three hours, touched upon BaZi (Chinese Astrology), Feng Shui and Mian Xiang (Face Reading), and how learning these skills can help one narrow down their soulmate.
In BaZi, Joey went straight to the matter of identifying one's soulmate based on the BaZi chart. He taught the participants on chart reading and how to compare two BaZi charts to see if the two individuals have an affinity towards each other. To identify a soulmate potential, a person's Day Pillar must be present on the other individual's Four Pillars on his/her BaZi chart and/or appear on his/her Luck Pillars instead.
Joey also taught the fundamentals of BaZi like the combinations, harms and clashes one need to be aware of when reading a BaZi chart.
In the Feng Shui session, he explained about the He Tu (Early Heaven) and LuoShu (Later Heaven), and how to determine the Combination of Ten. He also spoke on the annual Flying Stars and how to locate the Sitting and Facing directions. He showed which Stars to tap on to harness the right Qi for relationship.
In addition, Joey gave a few tips on Face Reading, which is a useful skill the participants can learn on the spot. He demonstrated how different features on the face can signify different fortunes on a particular month or season of the year for an individual.
By the end of both Soulmate Workshops, the participants were excited to put what they learnt to good use with hope to increase their chances of finding their soulmate in life.
