Mushrooms, Snow and Santa Claus - by Anna Sztandera
In Poland, the 6th of December is Santa Claus Day. It is like an introduction to Christmas. We give ourselves small gifts – this refers mainly to children but some adults practice this as well. It is customary to say that it is Santa Claus who brings us these presents...despite the fact that we buy these presents ourselves.
Master Joey Yap spent one week in Warsaw – from the 2nd till the 8th of December. Well, the Polish group of Feng Shui and BaZi enthusiasts couldn’t have imagined a better Santa Claus present! But it was a special present. It required some effort from us to be able to accept it. For Polish students, it was their first contact with Joey Yap and his style of teaching – energizing and unique, demanding a clear brain and active participation in the class...but also some early preparation. Can you imagine? Getting prepared to be ready to accept a present? Yes! And for those of you who are planning to attend future Mastery Academy classes in or out of Poland - yes, do prepare yourself as well as you can. The reward, pleasure and satisfaction will be given to you immediately!
By the way, those of you who are seriously planning to attend future Mastery Academy classes – CONGRATULATIONS! You are probably going to make one of the best investments in your life.
Two classes were held in Poland last week, Feng Shui Module 3 and BaZi Module 2. BaZi as a relatively new subject, created a slightly bigger excitement. Studying BaZi, we discovered how important the “SLF Mantra” is as our colleague, Ania J. said. For those of you who do not know, the first letter of SLF stands for SEASON. It tells us how important seasonality or proper timing is. Well, it is very important in BaZi, very important in Feng Shui and very important in life. It even refers to mushrooms! Here, I need to reveal one secret about our teacher – he likes mushrooms and he likes them very much! No, no, not the Chinese ones, the wild European ones. Fortunately, Poland has an abundance of wild mushrooms as we still have many wild forests. We have the biggest and oldest forest in Europe. Come visit us and see. Wild mushrooms are aplenty…provided it is in season.
I was promising Joey many mushroom dinners till I forgot that in December, wild mushroom season was off! How could I forget? Luckily we could still eat some delicious soups based on dry mushrooms. Uff! Our honor had been saved but how do I explain the lack of snow? In Poland? In December? No excuse, frankly speaking.
Poles are spontaneous people. So, no wonder that something spontaneous had happened last week. We opened a Spine Relief Clinic here and we were the first patients. Of whom? Chris Leong, of course. Yes, I am talking about the Chris Leong who accompanies and helps Master Joey in all his courses. Not only does he take pictures and care for the technicalities, this talented, humble and always smiling man was a Wu Shu (Martial Arts) champion. How many of you know that he is also a Feng Shui instructor and/or first of all is a professional Chiroprator - like his whole family, for three generations already?
In Warsaw, Chris really showed us what he could do – most of us took this unique opportunity to fix our spines. Chris, we are very grateful for this! Yes, it would be a good idea to share your skills with the MA students – as what you have already started in Athens.
Coming back to Feng Shui and Bazi. In 2005, Master Joey Yap’s visit to Poland is planned for September – the pick of mushroom season. Just in case.
