BaZi Module 2, 12th – 13th May
BaZi Modules 2 and 3 are challenging to even experienced BaZi practitioners – but this was a very special class, taught personally by Joey Yap – and with him at the helm, sharing his many personal experiences with BaZi, it became an opportunity for the students to really get the most out of the class as they had him answer the various questions they had on BaZi. It took many months of advance planning and it culminated in Joey addressing a packed room in this famously scenic `City by The Bay’ – on a tour of duty to propagate knowledge of Chinese Metaphysics in general and BaZi in particular.
Aptly themed Practical BaZi Applications, Module 2 of the Mastery Academy’s BaZi Mastery Series literally elevates the already considerable knowledge students acquired in Module 1 to that of a professional BaZi practitioner’s. And Joey duly set the pace – a lively, compact and animated one – in paving the way for his students to undergo their `baptism of fire’. A quick revision of the fundamentals expected of any practitioner of caliber, before the class nose-dived into more intricacies such as the 10 Gods and Structures.
Ending Module 2 on a decidedly participative note(credit goes to the students, here!) were analyses of various sorts, where BaZi was applied to many a sample to demonstrate its accuracy, and also test the students’ mastery of the subject.
BaZi Module 3, 14th – 16th May
As an Advanced Practitioners’ Program, students who enroll for Module 3 are expected to have a more-than-average proficiency of BaZi knowledge, as an implicit pre-requisite to attend it. Continuing to helm the class was Joey, with most – if not all – of his students resuming where they left off in Module 2, on the previous day.
Module 3 commenced with Joey `cross-examining’ his students, to ensure their grasp of the essential BaZi fundamentals was complete. With this, Joey proceeded to launch into the meat of Module 3 - touching on the Five Elements, 10 Heavenly Stems and 12 Earthly Branches – pausing every now and then to make sure the students understood the material. Such was the amount of knowledge disseminated in Module 3 that despite its intensive approach, the syllabus took 3 days to cover.
Highly sophisticated techniques, derived from classical BaZi texts, were shared with students over the duration of these 3 days, with discussions (and debates!) on concepts such as Palaces and BaZi assessment methods completing Module 3’s substantial course content. When the deluge of questions targeted at Joey finally abated, everyone gleefully jumped into the viewfinder’s frame, for the group-shot with Joey that proclaimed: I came, I saw and I conquered!
